Why did you choose this profession?
As the story goes for many PT’s, I chose to become a PT after being a patient myself. As a kid I hurt my back and went through PT with a therapist who was wonderful and helped me so much. I wanted to be able to help people like he had helped me, and with the combination of my nerdy love for anatomy and love to be active, PT felt like the perfect profession for me.
What do you believe is your best quality as a practitioner?
I think it is that I am caring, passionate and always there for my patients. I try to empower my patients and help guide them back to the activities that they want to and need to do to live a happy life. I am a curious learner which I believe helps me provide my patients with the best opportunity to improve and feel better.
Interests and Hobbies?
I enjoy everything active, and if I can combine it with being outdoors, even better! I love CrossFit, hiking, running and triathlon but am always excited to try new sports and activities. I also love food of all sorts, I really enjoy cooking and making up new healthy recipes. One of my absolute favorite things to do is traveling, if I could, I’d be out exploring the world and all it has to give all the time.
Did you know?
I have lived in three out of the seven continents, speak three languages and am obsessed with almond butter!
What do you find most interesting about your job?
The most challenging part of my job is trying to find just the right “thing" for each patient to get them to their ultimate goals. The most interesting part is all the people I meet and all their individual stories they share.
I have played soccer most of my youth and love the game! I also really enjoy watching basketball, hockey and football. I’m a nut-butter fanatic and love all the veggies.
I am taking my L1 certificate and will be coaching at CrossFit Syracuse starting the fall.
